MCCALL // 2017

I can't believe it's been over a year and a half since I last posted here! I have often thought about making a post to explain everything that's happened because SO much has happened! But, that's for another post. This one will be dedicated to our family trip we took to McCall this year! We actually spent a day in Boise (p.s. we moved out of Idaho! Stay tuned for the update post, seriously!) visiting Tom's family, then drove to McCall the following day and spent about 6 days there.

McCall is my happy place. We haven't seen trees in a long time and it was so nice to breathe in the fresh mountain air, go swimming, wake up to chilly mornings, and go to the lake whenever! If I could live there, I would pack up my stuff and be there tomorrow.

We spent a lot of our time swimming in the condo pool, skipping rocks at the lake, and just enjoying life. All of these pictures were taken with my phone so aren't top notch quality, but I kinda love it. I really unplugged that week. I was rarely on social media except when Hunter was sleeping. It was really nice to step back and be present.

Last time we were in McCall Hunter was just a little guy at 7 months old. It was so fun to be able to do things with him. In fact, we made huge progress with his swimming. He was terrified at the beginning of the week to swim in the pool with his life jacket on. By the end of the week he was purposely falling off his blow up shark into the water and jumping into our arms from the side of the pool! It was awesome! We are so proud.

Now, we spent one day on the lake in the boat. I wish I would have gotten an actual picture of the 70's beast. My uncle bought it for $200 (that should tell you right there how scary this was going to be) he had yet to take it out on the lake once before we borrowed it. Not only that, it was my step dad's first time ever driving a boat. Let me tell you, anytime that boat turned in the water it felt like it was going to roll! It was pretty scary and I ended up getting sea sick, but it's a good memory to tell Hunter when he's older.

We enjoyed lots of good food, too! Although, there is just something about coming home and fixing a home cooked meal after a week of eating out a lot! But, the food was great, so I can't complain.

Tom and I also spent a morning fishing in the prettiest little pond. We caught 7 beautiful rainbow trout. There was a certain "sweet spot" on the pond. Multiple groups caught their limit in that spot and somehow there was still fish for us to catch! It was a great morning spending time with my hubs!

Is it too soon to go back?
